Eighth/Ninth Graders (Former Juniors - Full PIAA Rules) 

  • Consists of average or lessor skilled players who wish to continue playing softball for the love of the game.  Games are 7 innings, bases 60', and pitching mound is set at 40'.  Girls in this level are not generally looking to play at the scholastic or tournament levels.
  • Play a 16 game schedule plus playoffs.  Schedule starts around April 23 and runs through June 13th.  Playoffs generally completed by around June 25th.  Generally 2 games per week, play Monday thruogh Saturday with Sunday being a make-up day.  Play is divisional with some travel when playing other division.
  • Usually 12 or more players per team because of the work requirements for many of the older girls.  9 players on field and in batting order, no minimum plyaing requirements but coaches play all ther girls.  Running batting order is often used at this level.
